Robert Lenhart grew up in the restaurant business.  His family ran successful Bay Area sandwich shops for years.  He loved the business and knew he wanted his own shop.

In 1999 he moved to Coeur d’ Alene Idaho.  He realized there was a market for a sandwich shop.  In June of that year he opened San Francisco Style Sourdough Eatery the first "Premium Deli Café"™.  It was an instant success.

Robert realized the QSR for sandwiches was enormous.  His mission became: San Francisco Style Sourdough Eatery The "Premium Deli Café.”™ 

Realizing warm sourdough and full muscled meats stuck a chord with customers.  He added fresh soups and gourmet salads.  In 2003 San Francisco Style Sourdough Eatery started to franchise.
